Campaign demonstrates consumers prefer local products
SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Products Association (PRPA) announced Wednesday that the results of its #LoMejorParaTodos (#TheBestForEveryone) campaign reflects that Puerto Rican consumers prefer local products and services over imported ones. The campaign was based on the conclusions of economic and brand studies of the “Hecho en Puerto Rico” (Made in Puerto Rico) seal.
“This proves that Made in Puerto Rico should lead the way in this economy and that is why the public will get information during this event about how Puerto Rican and foreign companies bet on local products,” said Marilú Otero, executive vice president of PRPA.
The complete results and impact of the campaign will be presented to PRPA members during the organization’s annual meeting April 25 at the La Concha Resort.
Also during the meeting, top executives from local businesses will discuss the challenges and alternatives available to local entrepreneurs to reactivate Puerto Rico’s economy in a forum titled “Made in Puerto Rico: Leading the way in our economy.”
Participating in the forum will be Eduardo Marxuach, of Econo Supermarkets; Viviana Mercado of Wal-Mart; Ramón Pérez Blanco, of Fulcro Insurance and outgoing president of PRPA; and Marie Rosado, of 3A Press and president-elect of the organization. The forum will moderated by Puerto Rico Journalists Association President (ASPPRO by its Spanish acronym) Juan A. Hernández.
The Excellence in Quality awards will also be conferred during the event to companies for the outstanding quality of their products in categories such as Product, Services and Innovation, among others.
