Local Firms Launch Marketing Startup Accelerator
SAN JUAN — Advertising agency J. Walter Thompson (JWT) Puerto Rico and DuartePino, a local advisory firm, launched Wednesday INDY Marketing Growth Accelerator, which will select five startups or emerging businesses on the island for a six-month program aimed at providing them with support in the areas of marketing and communications.
“Most accelerator [programs] in Puerto Rico and the region have components in areas such as technology and finance, but not marketing,” said Antonio Duarte Pino, chief marketing officer at DuartePino. “Since it is a marketing-based program, it can help all kinds of startup businesses, whether it is technology, banking, health, retail or consumer goods, among others.”
While DuartePino will provide services including business model assessment, marketing plans, and effectiveness and brand strategy, JWT Puerto Rico will provide brand and content strategy services that include support from the creative, digital and planning teams. The program will also feature public relations guidance from Hill + Knowlton Puerto Rico and support in video-related efforts from Filmes Zapatero, the local Emmy and Grammy awards winning company.
The call for submissions opens Wednesday and ends March 21. The six-month program starts April 11. For more information, please visit http://www.indyaccelerator.com/.
