Metro area car dealerships held up well against Hurricane María
SAN JUAN – A brief drive-by Friday morning revealed mixed levels of damage in San Juan’s premier auto sales sector, Kennedy Avenue in Puerto Nuevo. Dealerships sustained damages consisting of felled ceiling boards and lamps, damaged signs and complete façades ripped off by the winds, to buildings that seemed virtually untouched.
This, of course not taking into account the possibility of water damage in showrooms, service areas and of course, to parts inventory and vehicles.
The presence of security staff was already evident at some of the dealerships, while at others, construction crews were already busy with repairs.
In general, the structures held up well against the fury of María’s winds.
