Puerto Rico’s St. Regis resort appoints new manager
SAN JUAN – The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort has announced the appointment of Jan Vanhaelewyn as its new manager. The property is Puerto Rico’s first ultra-luxury resort and AAA Five Diamond property.
The resort said Vanhaelewyn has more than 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He previously served as operations director of W Bogota, which was conferred several “best-in” awards during his tenure.
Born in Belgium, Vanhaelewyn graduated from hotel and culinary arts school Ter Duinen and continued his education at Erasmus University College in Brussels, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in hotel management.
“The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort has set the benchmark for hospitality in Puerto Rico. With its bespoke luxury and unparalleled service, I am extremely honored to join the distinguished team and carry on the hotel’s position as the leader of luxury travel on the island,” Vanhaelewyn says about the 139-guestroom and suite hotel.
