ACODESE Presents New Board
SAN JUAN – The executive director of the Puerto Rico Insurance Companies Association (ACODESE by its Spanish acronym), Iraelia Pernas Meana, announced Monday that the organization chose its new board for the 2016-2017 period during the celebration of its 40th General Assembly of Members this past weekend.
The organization represents the local insurance industry through its 21 associated companies.
Carlos Rodríguez, of Triple-S Management, was elected president of ACODESE. Jaime González, of Antilles Insurance Co., serves as the new vice president; Federico Gordo, of Molina Healthcare of Puerto Rico, is secretary; and Roberto Pando, of MCS Life Insurance Co., is its treasurer.
The new board directors are Roberto Castro, of Cooperativa de Seguros Múltiples de Puerto Rico; Joaquín Castrillo, of MAPFRE Puerto Rico; Frederick Millán, of United Surety and Indemnity Co.; and José Benítez, of Universal Life Insurance Co.
“At a time of great challenges in all areas, it is a great responsibility to uphold the credibility and respect of an industry like ours. Today, we thank the outgoing Board of Directors, led by Arturo Carrión, of Triple-S Vida, for executing that task in an exemplary manner. We are confident that our new Board of Directors will continue to work to keep ACODESE as an agent of progress in the island’s insurance industry, securing the future of Puerto Rico,” Pernas said.
