SAN JUAN – Participants who call Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump’s statements on bankruptcy and other debt restructuring “hypocritical” were joining a rally at noon Friday in front of the real estate mogul’s Trump International Hotel and Tower on 1 Central Park West in New York.

Members of the Puerto Rican community, along with activists, union leaders and the Hedge Clippers, an organization that calls out what they believe are self-interest practices by hedge funds as well as their political influence, will rally against Trump because of his opposition to debt relief for the fiscal crisis in Puerto Rico. On Wednesday, Trump said on CNN that he loves debt, but would not bail out the island. The activists believe he takes advantage of Puerto Rico’s tax incentives and will “condemn his harmful hypocrisy,” according to a release on the demonstration.
