AEG Facilities Awarded Management for Puerto Rico Convention Center
SAN JUAN – Los Angeles-based venue operator AEG Facilities has announced it was awarded management for the Puerto Rico Convention Center (PRCC) effective Aug. 1, and said it appointed Jorge Pérez as general manager to lead the transition.
Pérez has served as the the 600,000 square-foot meeting and exhibit hall space’s director of finance for the past six years. Before that, he developed hospitality experience, having spent 10 years as director of administration for the Latin America Café/Restaurant, and worked for eight years as the Management and Budget Director for the Office of Government Ethics of Puerto Rico, an entity that received one of the only perfect audits in its history during his tenure there, the written announcement reads.

Withing Pérez’s purview at the PRCC are sales and marketing, operations, finance, food and beverage, and customer service, while implementing the strategic positioning and marketing plans for the facility in conjunction with the PRCCDA and the commonwealth’s destination marketing organization, Meet Puerto Rico.
