Banco Popular Reestablishes Full Service
SAN JUAN – Banco Popular said Wednesday morning that the service that allows customers to view their updated account balances is back up and working, allowing customers to make purchases and withdrawals as usual.
“We worked all morning along with our service provider, EVERTEC, to correct the situation in which the current balance of our customers’ accounts wasn’t being displayed. The service we offer our clients is of the utmost importance, which is why correcting the situation was our priority. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and thank our customers for the trust they put in us every single day,” said Camille Burckhart, bank executive vice president and chief information officer.
On Tuesday, Popular clients using the institution’s online banking portal were unable to access their accounts to verify balances due to problems with transaction processing supplier EVERTEC.
