Bancrédito to Issue Amex Black Card

SAN JUAN – Bancrédito International Bank & Trust Corp. has announced it will issue the Bancredito Black American Express, a premium credit card from the Blue Box line of the global payments company.

As part of an international group of financial entities Bancrédito was founded in 2008 as an international banking entity (IBE) under the laws of Puerto Rico and applicable U.S. law to offer services aimed at people and entities from around the world and focusing on Latin America.

Bancrédito’s new card will offer “a suite of benefits for high-net-worth clients who seek luxury experiences focused on lifestyle and travel,” the IBE said.

The card is equipped with contactless technology, allowing holders to make safer purchases by simply tapping their card at contactless enabled payment terminals, avoiding physical contact. 

“As part of Bancrédito International Bank & Trust Corporation’s strategy to offer first-class products and services, we bring to the international market a card for those consumers that enjoy exclusive experiences and benefits, in line with their needs, and with the standards of American Express,” explained Bancrédito President and CEO Frances M. Díaz Fossé. 

“The card will be offered in metal form and will include a wide range of specially curated benefits and services to provide an enriched offering, travel memberships and unparalleled access to global experiences,” added Mario Luna, American Express’ managing director for the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

The financial entities pointed out that cardholders will be in a loyalty reward program with which they can earn points and get credit on their account statement; complimentary Priority Pass membership with access to more than 1,300 lounges in airports around the world; complimentary status in the loyalty programs of hotel services; car rental discounts; access to premium dining events such as #AMEXFORFOODIES; access to pre-sale tickets to entertainment events; concierge services 24 hours a day and 7 days a week; travel and purchase protection program; and no fees on eligible foreign transactions.
