Bankers Association Hosts Tax Conference for Nonprofits
SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Bankers Association (PRBA) hosted Thursday a conference for non-profit organizations to help these prepare for this year’s tax season.

CPA Nilmary Flores discusses taxes and regulations.
The event, held jointly with the Asesores Financieros Comunitarios (Community Financial Consultants) organization, took place at FirstBank’s facilities in Río Piedras, where more than 100 nonprofit organization representatives attended.
The conference featured certified public accountants Rosana López and Nilmary Flores Dones.
López provided information and answered questions related to basic operational aspects for nonprofits, while Flores Dones presented the basic concepts of Form 990 and discussed the tax and regulatory aspects of these entities.
“We thank Asesores Financieros Comunitarios and all the valuable information they shared with community leaders and nonprofit organizations that participated in this conference, which was free of charge for these entities,” PRBA Executive Vice President Zoimé Álvarez Rubio indicated. “We hope the knowledge acquired is of benefit and useful during the approaching tax filing season.”
