Businesses benefiting from Evertec’s payment feature
SAN JUAN – Transaction processing company Evertec Inc. announced Wednesday the launch of its ATH Móvil app-based payment solution for e-commerce websites and mobile apps.
The feature is currently available for a limited number of businesses as part of a pilot program but is expected to be available to ATH Móvil Business users “at the beginning of 2019,” the Puerto Rico-based company said.
“Given the rapid adoption of smart phones and ATH Móvil, we created this solution to streamline the online purchase process and offer our local merchants increased convenience to accept electronic payments in an easy and secure way. Additionally, our over 1.1 million users of ATH Móvil will now be able to pay faster on the digital platforms of the businesses participating in this extended pilot,” Mac Schuessler, president & CEO of Evertec said in the announcing release.
Puma Energy Puerto Rico will be one of the first businesses that offer the payment feature for its Puma Fast Pay app, which allows customers to pay at the pump in its 230 gas stations around the island.
Puerto Rico’s Econo supermarket chain has received 46% of its payments via ATH Móvil on its EconoToGo platform, in “less than one year since its launch.”
During the “extended pilot phase,” Evertec said, some of the other participating businesses include Gustazos, Connect Assistance, Gasolina Móvil, Clickup and Uva!
The service is available for iOS and Android devices and provides access to a “dashboard” that shows received payments, a daily sales summary and reimbursements, and can generate customized reports.
