Casa Bacardí to Sell Brand Merchandise Online
SAN JUAN – Casa Bacardí announced Tuesday its launching of an online store, where it will sell original brand merchandise. Among the products available online are a variety of glasses, stirrers, shakers, tumblers, strainers and bar spoons.
“With this new initiative, we open a very important door in our commercial offer because now our selection of original Bacardí merchandise will be within reach of our visitors who wish to apply the mixology knowledge acquired during their visit to Casa Bacardí,” Maggie Matias, managing director for the Bacardí Visitor Center. “The strategy is designed to appeal to a public that wants to buy any article they did not purchase during their visit or want to buy more than one particular product or who wish to give one of our original products as a gift.”
At the moment of making a purchase through www.visitcasabacardi.com, the customer will be redirected to Amazon.com, the product order-and-delivery platform to be used.
Other available products include are a selection of recycled wood sunglasses made from retired oak rum barrels used by the company in Puerto Rico, as well as souvenirs, such as key rings, and mouse pads.
Bacardi Corp. was founded in San Juan in 1936, and is part of family-owned Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held spirits company in the world. The current facility was built in 1958 on 127 acres in the town of Cataño. The rum production facility is the largest premium rum distillery in the world, and one of 29 Bacardí manufacturing facilities globally.
Bacardí has operated the Casa Bacardí Visitor Center since 1961, drawing more than 250,000 visitors a year to learn about the history of the Bacardi family and brand, as well as its production.
