SAN JUAN – The legal case against former Puerto Rico House Speaker Jaime Perelló Borrás, filed by the Independent Special Prosecutor’s Panel (FEI by its Spanish initials) with five charges for allegedly receiving a $10,000 donation from the convict Lutgardo Acevedo López, was dismissed.

Reportedly, San Juan Superior Court Judge Aldo González Quesada issued his ruling on the charges for violation of the Ethics Law, perjury, ideological falsification and transfer of falsified documents.

The independent special prosecutors were Ramón Mendoza, Leticia Pabón and Iván Garau.

Perelló Borrás was represented by lawyers César López Cintrón and José Olmo.

The former lawmaker still awaits a legal process over the awarding of a contract to 3Comm Global, which belonged to former Popular Democratic Party fundraiser Anaudi Hernández Pérez.
