SAN JUAN – Organizations looking to learn best practices may be interested in attending the Women Inclusion Strategy: Key to Ignite Profits and the Economic Growth of Puerto Rico, an event to be held April 25 at the T-Mobile Center in Guaynabo.

Regarding the event, Frances Ríos, co-creator of W Certified Company, an assessment tool to help companies “discover the engagement, satisfaction, and sentiments of women towards their companies, leaders, and work environments,” put it to Caribbean Business like this: “The registration process to recognize the preferred employers for women in Puerto Rico and the United States has begun.”

Among the women at W Certified Companies, 95% feel the company is committed to the prevention of sexual harassment, 94% feel committed to helping their company grow, and 95% wish to grow into a leadership role, according to data gathered by the tool.

“For the past four years companies like Edwards Lifesciences, Merck, Stryker, Microsoft, Ethicon, Santander, and Medtronic, have been recognized as W Certified Companies for their successful strategies and programs to attract, retain, and promote the best female talent,” said Ríos, who heads the event organizer, Frances Ríos Enterprise, and also created the Women Who Lead Summit and Women Who Lead Accelerator.

Some of the speakers and panelists invited are William Sánchez, Esq., director of the Puerto Rico office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; Liza Rosado, senior human resources manager at Stryker; Lina Sentenat, human resources director for L’Oréal Caribe; and Miguel Nieves, human resources director for Merck.

“Preferred employers for women have a strong competitive advantage because they have in place strategies to prevent sexual harassment and promote salary equality,” Damaris Sánchez, an expert in women’s development and co-creator of W Certified Company, added.
