COVID-19 deaths remain at 97
Number of cases rises to 1,843
SAN JUAN – The Department of Health (DS) reported no additional deaths from COVID-19 on Monday; however, 35 unique positive cases were added.
“Deaths from COVID-19 remained at 97, after the Surveillance System did not register confirmed deaths from COVID-19. Likewise, the Demographic Registry did not report fatalities due to clinical pictures that, at the time of their respective deaths, were compatible with COVID-19, thus being classified as such by a doctor in their death certificates,” Health Secretary Lorenzo González Feliciano said in a statement.
He said 54 of the deaths reported to date were through his department’s Surveillance System and 43 by the Demographic Registry.
Of the results of the 35 additional positive cases, 13 were obtained through molecular tests and 22 by serological tests.
With these new results, the number of unique positive cases is 1,843, with 1,001 obtained from molecular tests and 842 from serological tests.
Of this total of unique positive cases, 926 are men and 917 are women, according to the official.
