Government Urges ‘Citizen Responsibility’; Vaccination Key to Avoid Severe
More than a month after most COVID-19 restrictions were lifted by Gov. Pedro Pierluisi, including the requirement to mask in indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status, infection cases climbed tenfold over the course of April, leaving the public, especially people in the health care field concerned with the growing community transmission.
Although the Puerto Rico Health Department recommends the use of face masks at events where more than 1,000 people participate, it is up to individuals to decide whether to don a face covering in every other setting unless it is specifically required by the facility.
