CPA Society to Hold Tech Forum May 20

SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Society of CPAs’ technology and innovation committee will hold its first Accounting and Finance Innovation Forum on May 20 at the Condado Plaza Hilton Hotel. The event will bring together a group of experts to present a varied agenda of tech-related topics.

“It is the first time we carry out such an important event, aimed primarily at company accounting and finance managers. Its focus is on the relevance of technology for the effective and efficient implementation of professional accounting and finance. We hope to bring together a large group of these professionals and provide new tools that they can incorporate to rethink processes and implement innovation in their work areas,” CPA Society President Zulmarie Urrutia-Vélez said in a published announcement.

Among the topics to be discussed are the role of accounting and finance executives, mistakes companies make when implementing technology, cloud software, monthly closings, the results of the Puerto Rico Finance and Accounting Offices Survey, and the island’s macroeconomic and statistical data.

Some of the guest panelists are Jorge M. Mejia, of Fusionworks and chairman of the Technology and Innovation Committee; Ana Matilde Bonilla, CFO of GFR Media; Héctor Guerrero, president of Nexvel Consulting; Jorge Hernández, Aerostar’s CFO; John Prados, CFO of Empresas Fonalleda; Federico Grosso, CFO of Metropistas; Roberto Martínez, CFO of Universal Insurance; Banco Popular CFO Carlos Vázquez; Alberto J. Rivera, senior VP & CFO of CC1 Cos. and Coca-Cola P.R. Bottlers; and Francisco Pérez, general manager of Garage Isla Verde.
