The presentation will be delivered June 7 at the Wyndham Grand Río Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort.
“The document to be presented will consist of four main sections: Needs and opportunities; Evaluation of the sectors; Analysis of the regions, their assets, potential … and—very important for all—the results of the survey Estudios Técnicos Inc. conducted of the membership of the Chamber of Commerce and some associations affiliated with the organization. The Forum for the presentation of this important Study will include the participation of a reaction panel composed of leaders from different economic sectors,” Rivera said in a statement.
He added that the study will provide vital information for businesses’ planning process, as the economic and demographic trends in the different sectors were evaluated as was information that helps identify opportunities.
Rivera noted that in addition to the study, the Convention Committee, chaired by Mayreg Rodríguez, also organized a Health Fair for June 7, concurrent with the forum on the study of entrepreneurial confidence. Then, at noon, the traditional Lunch-Dialogue will be held with Gov. Ricardo Rosselló Nevares, who is expected to attend. During the lunch, the Teodoro Moscoso Awards will be conferred, along with those for the respective business sectors.
At 3 p.m., Forum II will take place: “The Great Opportunities to Invest in Puerto Rico,” and concurrently, Forum III: “Opportunities for Federal Funds for the Educational System of Puerto Rico.”
The latter panel will include Acting Education Secretary Eligio Hernández Pérez and three other education experts.
“We will also be accompanied that day by FEMA’s interim recovery director, Jonathan Hoyes; the head of the education sector, Claude Hyacinthe, also of FEMA; and the executive director of the Public-Private Partnerships Authority, Mr. Omar J. Marrero,” Rodríguez said.
The annual CofC member meeting will be held June 8 at 9:30 a.m. In addition to approving the resolutions that will guide the chapter’s future under José E. Ledesma Fuentes, who will become chairman July 1, the chamber’s 2020 board will be announced.
During the afternoon, an Energy Forum will be held to discuss the role of the Energy Bureau for consumer protection and new projects to be developed to counteract the electricity rate hike to pay the debt.
