Evertec: 2,000 Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Requests Processed per Hour
Application Process Running After Breakdown
SAN JUAN – Evertec Executive Vice President of Business Solutions Carlos Ramírez announced Wednesday that its platform for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program (PUA) is processing applications after the breakdown caused by the volume of users.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act created a the temporary PUA federal program.
“Since dawn today, the platform has processed thousands of requests and we continue to work 24 hours a day to fine-tune processes, closely monitor the system and resolve new situations that may arise,” Ramírez said in a statement.
He mentioned that more than 17,000 requests had been processed and about 2,000 requests were being processed per hour.
Ramírez said that to facilitate the application, he recommended: 1) use the most recent versions of the following browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and/or Mozilla Firefox, which can be updated free of charge; 2) users must clean the memory and cache of their browsers; and, 3) they must turn off the automatic translation of their browsers, since the requests are available on the platform in both languages.
He mentioned that the platform provides a web and mobile option to submit an application for unemployment benefits.
“Evertec continues to collaborate with the Department of Labor to offer the best possible experience and thus ensure that all applications are processed in the most efficient manner,” he added.
