Family Department Secretary Idalia Colón and Marta Elsa Fernández Pabellón, manager of the Socioeconomic Development of the Family Administration (Adesf, by its Spanish acronym), confirmed the news Saturday.

The emergency aid, which will be granted throughout the day, is aimed at alleviating food loss as a consequence to the electric energy service interruption and it isn’t an advancement, so the Oct. 2016 deposit won’t be affected.

The OE-2016-036 will be reflected in stages until 8:00 p.m. or upon completing the total of participants. As explained, approximately $38 million will be distributed, which correspond 33 percent of the regular monthly benefit and will be handed out to 599,083 affected families.

People who require more information of their balances can verify calling (787) 467-4832 or through 311.
