Fiscal Board to Announce Financial Advisor Pick by Mid-January

SAN JUAN–The Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico said Thursday it expects to select its financial advisor by mid-January.
Since requesting proposals on Dec. 4, the board has received nearly 50 proposals from firms interested in providing their services as financial advisor.
According to a statement, oversight board members David A. Skeel and José Ramón González, who are leading the evaluation, are reviewing proposals from financial advisory, business and enterprise consultants.
The board is looking for a financial advisor with areas of expertise that include municipal finance, capital markets, restructuring and litigation, among others.
