GM Sectec, UPR Sign Cybersecurity Agreement

Organizations Establish Practice Centers for Students in Cybersecurity, IT

GM Sectec, a Puerto Rico-based company with operations in 50 countries that offers services in information technology (IT) governance, risk and compliance, signed an agreement with the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) to establish practice centers in the company for students in the areas of cybersecurity, IT and computer science.

Students from the UPR School of Law and from the faculties of Natural Sciences and Business Administration of UPR’s Río Piedras Campus will have the opportunity to do their internships and practice at GM Sectec. As part of the agreement, the company will designate a liaison official to relay “the activity carried out by the students.” GM Sectec said it is committed to “developing local talent in cybersecurity, compliance, and internet law.”
