Gov. Pierluisi Approves New COVID-19 Entry Rules

By on May 25, 2021

Gov. Pedro Pierluisi said that as of today, Tuesday, any traveler arriving in Puerto Rico on a domestic flight will be able to comply with COVID-19 arrival protocols by presenting the completed vaccination card. At the same time, those who are still missing a vaccine must show a negative diagnostic test to detect the virus.

The new rules eliminate the need for a molecular test for entry to Puerto Rico and will come into effect today since the Puerto Rico Health Department worked on the latest specifications in the Traveler Declaration Application.

“All the measures we have established seek to safeguard the health and safety of all. The changes at the airport have been effective, and the vaccination continues to show that it works. I appreciate the work of the Health Department,” said Pierluisi.
