Groups Propose Anti-Corruption Code Amendments
Hundreds of Millions of Dollars Estimated to Be Lost Annually
Given the urgency of addressing loopholes in the legislation to combat public corruption in Puerto Rico, two civic organizations, Sembrando Sentido and Somos Más, formed an alliance to submit several amendments to the 2018 Anti-corruption Code for the New Puerto Rico for consideration by the Legislative Assembly.
The amendments proposed by the organizations aim to address vulnerable areas of the government apparatus and to adapt the existing controls to the current challenges in the fight for a more comprehensive and transparent management of government operations.
