“Congressman Tom Price is an excellent designation to direct issues related to health. A doctor, Price is focused on patients’ well-being. During my meetings with the congressman, I have drawn his attention to health needs in Puerto Rico, which is why we have an ally as Health Secretary that is aware of the priorities we want for the island,” indicated González Colón in written declarations.

On Tuesday, González Colón, who leads the Puerto Rico Republican Party, gathered with Price, to whom she expressed the consequences for Puerto Rico’s health system stirred by the $1.2 billion loss by eliminating the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare.

Last September, the New progressive Party (NPP) majority leader in the P.R. House of Representatives met up with Price in Congress, where she vouched for fund distribution to the island to battle the Zika virus, social wellbeing problems, and she discussed economic measures.

The Republican Party is seeking to replace Obamacare with an alternative that offers more options and more competence, oriented toward patients’ needs.
