JetBlue to Debut Aguadilla-Fort Lauderdale Route
JetblueSAN JUAN — JetBlue airlines will establish a direct route with daily frequencies between Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, starting May 5.
Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Co., made the announcement Wednesday. “The new route grants tourists from various regions stateside the opportunity to learn the wonders of Puerto Rico’s Porta de Sol area,” said Rivera, referring to the island’s western region. “The route also expands the chances for Puerto Ricans abroad to get closer to their families and roots.”
The new flight, which will have a 190-passenger capacity, will complement existing JetBlue routes connecting Aguadilla to Orlando and New York City. The airliner leads the Caribbean and Latin America market with 145 daily flights departing from the region. To celebrate the new route, the company is offering introductory prices of $59 for flights from Fort Lauderdale to Aguadilla.
