Liberty Completes Integration with Choice Cable
SAN JUAN–The Choice brand completed its integration into Liberty Puerto Rico’s operations effective Tuesday, company reps said.
The union of the Liberty and Choice brands unifies the telecommunication product and services lineup the company offers throughout the island, said Naji Khoury, president and CEO of Liberty Puerto Rico. “This union will drive efficiencies and enhance our ability to invest in our next-generation infrastructure, [and] allow us to expand and train our personnel.”
Khoury added that customers can now make transactions at any of Liberty’s service centers and kiosks throughout the island, with Choice’s service centers and kiosks operating under the Liberty brand. With the brand integration complete, former Choice customers now receive their bills with the Liberty logo and new account numbers. They can also see their balances, pay their bills and receive notifications via text message through the MiLiberty platform. Along with its brand integration, Liberty is relaunching its webpage.
All of Liberty’s product offerings will also be on hand, including more than 120 high-definition channels, a larger amount of digital channels, and Internet speeds of up to 200 megabits per second. Under the consolidated brand, customers across Puerto Rico may also use Liberty Everywhere, which allows them to watch programming from more than 60 channels from any electronic device. Liberty Business’ commercial products and services are also available for business customers throughout the Puerto Rico.
Overall, Liberty now boasts 10 service centers and 11 kiosks across the island. The service centers are located in Hatillo, Levittown, Aguadilla, Centro Gran Caribe Mall in Vega Alta, Hato Rey, Luquillo, Hormigueros, Plaza Centro in Caguas, Guayama and Ponce Mall.
The kiosks are located in Plaza Las Américas (two kiosks), Plaza Carolina, Outlet 66 in Canóvanas, Palma Real in Humacao, Plaza Centro in Caguas, Plaza del Sol and Río Hondo in Bayamón, San Patricio Plaza in Guaynabo, Plaza del Caribe Mall in Ponce and Premium Outlets in Barceloneta. In the next few months, Liberty will open five new kiosks in other malls.
The brand integration takes place two years and five months after OneLink’s integration in November 2013 and nine months after the closing of Choice Cable TV’s acquisition. As a result, Liberty Puerto Rico now serves approximately 777,000 subscriptions in 75 out of the 78 municipalities on the island and has about 1,000 employees.
The company is a subsidiary of Liberty Global, the world’s largest cable company, with operations in 14 countries, serving 27 million customers. Puerto Rico is Liberty’s only presence in a U.S. jurisdiction.
