Lopito Ileana & Howie (LIH): 50 Years of Creativity

In 1972, three entrepreneurs-Lopito, Ileana and Howie-got together in a garage to start a creative boutique. These young, visionary risk takers encouraged creativity in all areas of the business. Today, their namesake advertising agency is celebrating 50 years of success. “We have evolved and surpassed the obstacles that occurred along the way,” explained Alexandra Caraballo, general manager and partner at LIH. Alluding to the firm’s logo, a tricycle created by Lopito (RIP), “We have pedaled and continue to move forward, always supporting each other to better serve our clients.”

Given that LIH is the only ad agency that is a W Certified Company, Caraballo pointed out that the certification-related survey is conducted among female employees, and its questions are related to the employer’s support for women’s needs. One of the founders, Ileana, proved her tenacity in an industry that was initially dominated by men. “I started at the agency as an employee 10 years ago,” she said. “As media director, I grew and learned.
