Manufacturers, DDEC Sign MOU to Reduce Power Costs

The Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association (PRMA) and the commonwealth’s Economic Development and Commerce Department (DDEC by its Spanish acronym) have signed a collaborative agreement to plan and launch programs that reduce electricity and environmental costs.

DDEC Secretary Manuel Cidre and PRMA Executive Vice President Yandia Pérez explained that the programs will pursue the principles and mandates of the Puerto Rico Energy Public Policy Act (Act 17 of 2019), which was established to create the parameters to guide the government toward a reliable energy system at reasonable rates for utility customers.
