MMM Healthcare expands provider network

Over 200 health professionals receive training

SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico-based insurer MMM Healthcare LLC, along with its sister company, MSO of Puerto Rico, an organization that provides administrative support to the medical community and health services tailored to members of the plan, recently welcomed more than 200 health professionals who will join its network of providers.

The development is part of the first phase of preparation of the health professionals who join the provider’s network of more than 10,000, which includes primary care physicians, specialists, hospitals, laboratories, primary medicine support centers and other facilities.

During the first session of the initiative, called MSO University, the physicians and health professionals hired received guidance and training, as well as other tools to serve patients.

During the activity, Dr. Raúl. F. Montalvo, president of MSO, shared discussed best practices and management of coordinated care with the newly hired providers.

MMM Healthcare is an HMO and PPO plan with a Medicare contract. It has implemented programs that include coordinated care for physical and mental health, and offers a coordinated care option that offers alternatives on how to receive Medicare benefits primarily to people over the age of 65, younger persons with disabilities and persons with end-stage renal failure.
