Municipality of San Juan Spearheads Project to Improve Water Supply

By on September 20, 2021

The municipal government of San Juan and the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority signed a collaborative agreement to install six electric generators in pump stations for communities that suffered interruptions in the utility due to power outages.

The public corporation will manage the system after the municipal government completes the project with a cost of $1 mullion.

“The Municipality will acquire the generators with municipal funds to avoid interruptions in the water service due to lack of electricity. We are fulfilling a project we made before the elections,” said San Juan Mayor Miguel Romero Lugo.

The AAA will certify that the project meets the specifications on completion. The new generators will stabilize the utility for thousands of residents living in Hasta Mañana, Holly Hill, Caimito 1, Los Cotto (Caimito 2), Venezuela, and San Martín.
