P.R. Treasury Reaches $90 Million in Reimbursements

SAN JUAN — Puerto Rico Treasury Secretary Raúl Maldonado Gautier reported on Thursday a $10 million disbursement of reimbursements corresponding to the 2016 tax cycle.

“With this number, the sum of reimbursements sent is $90 million, fulfilling the commitment to prioritize payment of refunds to taxpayers who responsibly complied with the filing of their tax returns,” the Treasury secretary said.

Since April 3, the Treasury Department has sent out $6 million to $10 million in weekly refunds that correspond to the 2016 tax cycle that ended April 18.
