SAN JUAN – Former Secretary of State and Popular Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for governor, David Bernier, officially took office as party president Wednesday afternoon.
Bernier met with the president of his transition committee, Rep. Jesús Santa, to outline a transition plan prior to the first meeting of the PDP’s Governing Board, which will take place on January 7th, 2016.
“We have initiated an orderly transition process. Even though we are officially taking over the presidency today, we already had conversations and meetings with the outgoing secretary general, Jorge Colberg, and the party’s work group during the week,” said Santa.
The transition report will include a complete diagnostic of the electoral component, the political structure, finances and other administrative matters. Also in the transition committee are Javier González, and attorney Rafael Juarbe. The official transition will take place on January 7th and will culminate with a public event dedicated to the people.
