Pierluisi Campaign Blankets Island with Billboards
SAN JUAN – Pedro Pierluisi’s campaign for governor for the New Progressive Party (NPP) blanketed the island this weekend with some 100 digital billboards at the four most visible and heavily trafficked roads in Puerto Rico.
Most of the ads read, “Pierluisi, governor,” along with his campaign slogan, “I Say Yes.”
“Since the beginning, Pedro Pierluisi’s campaign chose to urge voters to say yes. In moments of undeniable crisis and great uncertainty, our people need positive and real messages,” campaign Director Nestor Aponte said in a statement Saturday.
In his view, “a vote for Pedro Pierluisi is not only a vote for change for the better in the course the island is taking but one of certainty that he is the only candidate who can guarantee a change in all the important areas, such as equality, security, economic development, education and health,” Aponte stated.
The billboards allude to Pierluisi’s experience, and in one case, indicate that a vote for him means saying yes “for your family to return” to Puerto Rico.
The new campaign complements one scheduled for radio and TV. Both of which refer to the gubernatorial hopeful’s “Real Solutions” proposals for the island and his commitment as governor.
“Today, more than ever, your vote will change everything,” Pierluisi says in one of the TV ads.
“The campaign has entered an extraordinary period. There are only 21 days for Puerto Rico to have the best NPP candidate for governor. The result of that primary will bring peace and tranquility to thousands of Puerto Ricans, because it will mean that the end of the Popular Democratic Party’s poor administration is near,” Aponte added.
