PREPA Networks changes name to HUB Advanced Networks

SAN JUAN — PREPA Networks LLC recently announced its new name, HUB Advanced Networks LLC.  

The rebrand aims to highlight the company’s new strategy and focus on advanced wholesale telecommunications infrastructure services and advanced technology services. The primary goal, the company said, is to help customers in Puerto Rico and abroad to take advantage of new technology developments in IoT, small cells, smart cities, virtual collaboration, high-performance networking, security, project management, and cloud computing at the company’s flagship telecommunications facility, a data center in Isla Verde known as HUB787, which HUB said is the Caribbean’s most innovative computing facility.  

Managing Director José Casillas said the company has been providing “reliable wholesale telecommunications services for the past 16 years. The rebranding is now an extension of the company’s mission and vision commitment.

“Under HUB Advanced Networks, LLC, we are reaffirming our mission to make Puerto Rico the main telecommunications hub of the Caribbean by providing the most reliable telecommunications infrastructure and technology services. We relentlessly pursue our vision, to enhance the lives and businesses of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region by providing reliable telecommunications infrastructure and technology services that promote progress and innovation.”  

Under the new name, the company will be marketed as HUB and continue to offer wholesale telecommunications and advanced technology services to provide industry with the digital infrastructure and connectivity needed to bring innovative services to the Caribbean.  

“HUB’s new business approach includes four service pillars: Wholesale Optical Services, International Backbone & Data Center, Special Facilities, and Special Purpose Real Estate. These pillars provide a digital platform that supports advanced application development and fosters innovation; all developers and service providers are welcome to participate at this digital commerce ecosystem,” HUB’s business development director, José Bonilla, said in a statement.
