Puerto Rico Association of Realtors joins My Florida Regional MLS
SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Association of Realtors (PRAR) has become My Florida Regional MLS’s (MFRMLS) newest multiple listing service customer. The addition expands the latter’s service area outside of Central and Southwest Florida in its effort to create a larger, national presence.
Multiple listing services help buyers find properties posted by real estate agents, which in turn increases their chances of selling the property and splitting the commission with the agent who carried out the sale.
“Not only is this a historical move for us as we add customers outside of Florida, but PRAR’s members now have access to the largest MLS in the state and a host of products and services to help them serve their clients!” said MFRMLS CEO Merri Jo Cowen.
Founded in the early 1950s, PRAR serves approximately 500 Realtor members across four local boards.”As Puerto Rico continues to become a sought-after locale for corporate relocation and growth, PRAR seeks to meet the needs of the real estate professionals who serve those corporations and their families,” reads the announcing release.
“We strongly believe this will help strengthen and grow our organization. Our country has been through a hard season, but we are committed to evolving with the times and becoming a better, more agile Association to the benefit of our members,” the president of the Puerto Rico Association of Realtors, Eddie López, said of the move to join the Florida service, which has more than 57,000 members in 17 counties.
The stateside listing service is owned by 15 shareholder Realtor boards and provides marketing tools to real estate brokers. Besides operating the consumer home and property search website State27Homes.com, it also runs My Florida Commercial Real Estate.
