Puerto Rico CofC to Hold Annual Convention in San Juan
SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CofC) is preparing to hold its annual convention for the first time in the San Juan metropolitan area.
The June 9-11 event will take place at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino, adjacent to the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
“The main reason for the decision to move our convention to San Juan this year was due to the metro area being where the largest number of the chamber’s associate companies and membership and where the general public who could benefit from our convention are,” Puerto Rico CofC President José Vázquez Barquet said Monday.
Themed “Innovation and Collaboration,” the event will offer a variety of forums, product and service exhibitions, a fashion show, a bay party, a gala, an award ceremony, and the annual meeting, among others.
Within the convention, there will be a forum with the island’s gubernatorial candidates.
“By then, the primaries will have concluded and [the candidates] will be answering questions about what they will do for Puerto Rico and its economic development,” convention Chairman Orlando Montañez said.
During its three days, convention-goers and the general public may visit nearly a hundred exhibitors of products and services showcasing technology and goods, as well as network with CofC members.
