By on February 6, 2018

SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló will be a keynote speaker at the Puerto Crypto, a conference focused on topics related to crypto currencies and blockchain technology, that will take place March 14 at the Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan.

Recent reports have shown light on wealthy cryptocurrency investors moving to Puerto Rico to avoid federal and state taxes and create their own crypto utopia.

Government officials, according to the Puerto Crypto page, will use the event to showcase proposed legislation that will ensure Puerto Rico “is the friendliest locale in the United States for entrepreneurs, investors and service providers in the crypto currency and blockchain arena.”

The event will feature 45 globally recognized speakers, and panelists will discuss topics such as profitable trading strategies, new blockchain and crypto technologies, regulatory issues and coin offering strategies. CEO’s from 10 “highly anticipated” initial coin offerings, or ICOs, will present their company to attendees and participate in one-on-one meetings.

The event will be carried out in conjunction with the Puerto Rico Economic Development and Commerce Department and the governor’s office. Tickets for the event range from $1,495 to $2,495.
