Puerto Rico governor heads stateside to meet Education secretary

SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló was traveling stateside to hold a series of meetings with various leaders from federal agencies, including U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, alongside the island’s Education secretary, Julia Keleher.

Rosselló will also meet with Adele Fabrikant, executive director of “Teach for America,” a nonprofit whose chief goal is to develop a movement to eliminate educational inequality in the United States.

Governor to sign Puerto Rico medical cannabis and coal ash bills

As part of his trip, the governor will also attend a commercial event organized by the Trade & Export Co. (CCE by its Spanish initials), accompanied by the agency’s director, Ricardo Llerandi. The event will take place in New York.

Puerto Rico State Secretary Luis Rivera Marín will serve as interim governor while Rosselló is away.
