Puerto Rico governor in NY to lobby for post-hurricane reconstruction, fair treatment in tax reform

SAN JUAN – Gov. Ricardo Rosselló traveled to New York on Sunday evening to meet with “the independent entities collaborating on the revision of the Build Back Better report” on the reconstruction of Puerto Rico after Hurricane María, according to a La Fortaleza press release.

Secretary of State Luis Rivera Marín will be interim governor until Wednesday, when he slated to travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with the governor to continue efforts to explain to Congress “the importance of federal tax reform not affecting Puerto Rico.”

On Wednesday, Justice Secretary Wanda Vázquez will serve as interim governor until Rosselló returns to the island Thursday.
