Puerto Rico Manufacturers to hold Buyers and Suppliers Summit Friday
SAN JUAN – In order to stimulate the economy through the purchase of local products and services, and as the signature event of Buyer’s Week, the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association will hold its Buyers and Suppliers Summit this Friday at the Puerto Rico Trade Show Complex in Ponce, engineer Francisco García, the executive vice president of the PRMA, has announced.
“More than 75 buyers of manufacturing and services companies will participate in the business meetings we have called ‘perfect matchmaking.’ Purchases from these companies represent millions of dollars in sales opportunities for participating suppliers. In addition to sharing the latest trends in purchasing and supply, suppliers can make a month’s [worth] business presentations in a single day,” García said in a written statement.
In addition to the business meetings, an educational program will be conducted for buyers and suppliers. Among the topics to be presented are: Impact of Quality on Purchases and Suppliers by Lina Cintron, PE, CQA, Patheon business manager, Quality Auditor SME; Sustainable Purchases by Lissette Landestoy of Hilton Hotels, field operations manager, Caribbean & Latin America; and Lydia Crespo, purchasing manager for Patheon Puerto Rico and president of PRMA’s purchasing committee.
In addition, logistics will be discussed through such topics as Incoterms, SURI and new regulations, which will be covered by Tom Vincent, vice president of Prime Air Corp. and PRMA board secretary.
Some of the confirmed companies participating with their buyers are: Abbott Caguas and Arecibo, AbbVie Ltd, Alpla Caribe, ALPROEM Engineering Contractors Corp., Amphenol Advanced Sensors, Assurance Solution, Baxter Healthcare Corp., Bristol-Myers Squibb Holdings Pharma Ltd, C-Axis, Challenger Brass, Comar, CooperVision, Eaton, Eco Eléctrica, Edwards Lifesciences and Evertec.
