“The curriculum is endorsed in its totality by the Medical Sciences campus and it is offered by experts. Our goal is to obtain the highest number of certified doctors in the island in order to attend agilely and responsibly the thousands of patients that could benefit from consistent, high-quality treatments,” expressed ASPR President John Reyes.
He indicated that the educational program, created with the goal to train Puerto Rico’s doctors, not only emphasizes cannabis’ history in health and its regulation in Puerto Rico, but also encompasses the cannabis plant components and different methods of provision and dosing.
Likewise, the courses are framed within the regulations identified in Ruling 8766.
Among the subjects in the certification program figure the history of cannabis; dosing and use of cannabinoids; the use of cannabis to alleviate pain; neurological disorders and the use of cannabis; medicinal cannabis regulation in Puerto Rico, among others.
