SAN JUAN — MedCann.Biz, a conference discussing various aspects involving medical cannabis, will be held Tuesday and Wednesday (June 28-29) at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Carolina’s Isla Verde sector.
The event, billed as the first official international cannabis conference on the island, will discuss many aspects of the medical cannabis industry such as global practices, opportunities for real estate, technology, research, laws and regulations of medical marijuana, among other issues, said Ingrid Schmidt, senior consultant for MedCann.Biz, a consulting firm and host for the event.
Officials such as Economic Development Secretary Alberto Bacó; Fransicso Bonet, director of the Medical Tourism Corp.; and Lucy Crespo, CEO of the Science, Technology & Research Trust Fund, will participate at the event.
Other invitees include Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), who will be speaking about his experience in introducing a bill in Arizona to legalize recreational marijuana. Michael Miller, CEO and founder of the National Cannabis Chamber of Commerce, and Craig Ellins, founder of GrowBlox Sciences, will also be on hand to talk about the business opportunities in the sector.
Scott Giannotti, founder of Cannabis and Hemp Association from New York City, will join Medical Tourism Corp.’s Bonet as they break down the competitive advantages Puerto Rico’s regulatory framework has over the global cannabis industry and the explosive economic potential integrating medical cannabis tourism.
