Airline announces Tampa, San Juan deal
SAN JUAN — The executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Co. (CTPR), Carla Campos, welcomed Thursday the recent announcement of Frontier Airlines about its winter daily route between Newark Liberty International Airport and Luis Muñoz Marín Airport in San Juan starting Nov. 14.
“This news encourages us and reconfirms that air access in Puerto Rico continues to grow. Frontier’s new daily service between Newark and San Juan represents about 27,140 seats, between Nov. 14 and March 11, for which we estimate an economic impact of approximately $10,001,632.80. This will undoubtedly continue to add to the economic growth of the Island,” the Tourism official said in a statement.
Frontier announced Thursday a new, nonstop route from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
A $49 introductory fare was made available from Tampa Airport to and from San Juan Mondays and Wednesdays starting Nov. 15.
Fares must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Sep. 2 for nonstop travel. Fares are valid for travel Oct. 6 through Feb. 12, 2020. The following blackout dates apply: Nov. 22 through Dec. 2, and Dec. 20 through Jan. 6, 2020. Fares are one way and do not require roundtrip purchase.
