SAN JUAN – Pan Pepín–the Bayamón, Puerto Rico-based bread supplier–is celebrating having been named Manufacturer of the Year, an award conferred by the Puerto Rico Products Association during its 2018 Excellence in Quality Awards ceremony.

“To work day-to-day with the objective of offering quality and freshness for Puerto Rican families while contributing to the continuous growth of our island is a great motivation. We’re honored to receive this award that recognizes the work that, with passion, we have performed to continue offering a quality product, 100% made in Puerto Rico, baked daily here with the freshness and quality that distinguish Pan Pepín,” Pan Pepín President Mario Somoza said.

The award is bestowed to a successful local company whose work had a significant impact on the manufacturing industry.

“Our commitment is firm with the economic and social development of our island,” the executive added.

Founded in 1974, Pan Pepín now has more than 500 employees working in its production plants in Bayamón and distribution centers across the island.

The company’s products include sandwich bread and hamburger and hot dog buns; specialty bread and rolls; as well as snacks and cakes.
