Realtors Working on Property Inventory to House Quake Evacuees
SAN JUAN – The president of the Puerto Rico Association of Realtors, Caridad Quiroga, said Tuesday that the process of identifying the inventory of available properties to temporarily relocate the people displaced by earthquakes in southwest Puerto Rico is underway.
“Banks have their inventory and us Realtors have ours. Remember that we are not only talking about properties for sale but also properties for rent. What we are going to do is support our partners and our membership. We are going to look for the properties that are available in the area, not only in the affected towns, but also in the neighboring towns,” Quiroga replied to questions from the media.
Quiroga, who met with Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garced, mentioned that she was told that 1,000 properties would initially be needed to move the people displaced by the recent streak of earthquakes.
She said there will be another meeting with the governor, where the property inventory is expected.
