Salud Integral en la Montaña (SIM) Recognized by Federal Agency
The non-profit Salud Integral en la Montaña (SIM) was recognized by an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the quality of the services rendered during the COVID- 19 pandemic last year.
Dr. Gloria del C. Amador Fernández, president and CEO of SIM, thanked the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for the recognition.
Dr. Darielys Cordero, director of Special Programs and Quality Control of the Puerto Rico Association of Primary Health Care Providers (ASPPR), said ¨this effort stands out in response to the COVID-19 emergency, characterized by a high level of uncertainty, risks, challenges, and transformations.”
Meanwhile, Jim Macrae, associate director of the BPHC, noted that the awards given to 19 organizations in Puerto Rico in six categories included their responses to COVID-19 with tests, vaccination campaigns, and reports to the HRSA.
