Santurce-based Inversión Cultural Launches Workshops on Creative Entrepreneurship
SAN JUAN – Local firm Inversión Cultural announced Wednesday the launch of Pon Creativo, a series of workshops for entrepreneurs, artists, and cultural and creative managers undertaking initiatives in such areas as cultural tourism, music, performing arts, branding and social media, among others.
Led by Prof. Javier Hernández, who specializes in the creative economy and cultural entrepreneurship, the workshops seek to introduce participants to creative entrepreneurship tools proven both locally and internationally. According to a statement, specialists in creative entrepreneurship will participate in the workshops along with international figures who will be sharing their experiences and interacting with participants via Skype. Such is the case of Pau Corbalán, CEO & founder of Cooncert, a social promoter of concerts in Barcelona.
“Since last summer, we have reached collaboration alliances and agreements with various creative enterprises and cultural projects around the world, looking into the best practices of creative entrepreneurship with the goal of establishing connections to internationalize local efforts,” said Hazel Colón-Vázquez, project director at Inversión Cultural.
For her, “Pon Creativo is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs in any stage of development.” Colón-Vázquez added the new initiative is aimed at addressing “the sectors of the greatest interest for Puerto Rico’s creative ecosystem.”
According to Inversión Cultural, it seeks to foster cultural entrepreneurship through the development, investigation and mentoring of cultural microbusinesses in Puerto Rico, aiming to contribute to the development of the local cultural and creative ecosystem.
The workshops will take place Saturdays at the Foundation for Puerto Rico’s Colaboratorio facilities in the Santurce sector of San Juan.
