SBA Announces National Small Business Week

SAN JUAN – The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet announced Tuesday that this year’s National Small Business Week will be held from May 1-7. This year’s theme will be “Dream Big, Start Small.”

Contreras-Sweet will start the week in Washington, D.C., where she will recognize and award outstanding small-business owners from around the country. She will then continue the week with small business events in Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix, and finish up in California with visits to San Jose and Oakland. Additionally, recognition and educational events throughout SBA’s 10 Regions and 68 Districts will be held throughout the week.

In Puerto Rico, Small Business Week events will be held until Friday, May 13, when SBA conducts its traditional awards ceremony on the island, to honor local small-business owners, entrepreneurs and partners. In the U.S. Virgin Islands, Small Business Week will be held the week of June 6-10.
