SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico Secretary of State Luis Rivera Marín met Monday with German Consul General Annette Klein as part of Gov. Ricardo Rosselló’s agenda to strengthen ties with other jurisdictions and give new impetus to Puerto Rico’s economic development.

“The German consul general’s visit to Puerto Rico is important because we are working to include [the island] in the U.S.-Germany Tax Convention to avoid double taxation. In addition, we are developing several economic initiatives in tourism and trade with them and other countries in Europe. We must continue to carry the message worldwide that ‘Puerto Rico is open for business,’” the secretary of State said during the meeting held in his office.

Manuel Laboy, secretary of Economic Development & Commerce, was present during the meeting.
